Covid 19 Information

Covid Restriction Update:

Throughout the pandemic we have strived to make the surgery as safe as possible for all our patients and staff.  We will continue to do so going forward.

As a reminder patients are still asked to wear a face mask, to socially distance and use hand sanitiser in the surgery and staff will continue to wear PPE.

When booking a face-to-face appointment, all patients will be asked to confirm that they will attend with, and be willing to wear, a face mask whilst in the surgery.  This is because we have staff members who are themselves extremely clinically vulnerable, who cannot safely see any patient who is not wearing a mask.

We do understand that it can be frustrating to follow these restrictions, but we also know that when people come to us, they are often very sick and vulnerable.  Some patients cannot receive the Covid vaccination for medical reasons, and we have a responsibility to continue to take these precautions to protect people.

We are sure you will understand that we need to keep the surgery as safe as we can for all our patients.

Steam Vaccination Centre Update

The Steam Covid vaccination centre is now available for all first and second doses on the national booking system (tel. 119) as part of a national requirement of the vaccination programme.

As such all appointments have to be booked through this service and can no longer be booked through your GP surgery.

If you have already received a first dose through us the second dose will still be arranged by us.

We are aware vaccine appointments are limited at the moment but we will add more appointments as soon as we have confirmation of vaccine supplies (as advised nationally supplies are limited).

Many thanks for your support in these difficult times.

Car Parking at Steam

From 12th April, the Swindon Designer Outlet Centre is reopening to the general public and the North Car Park will revert to a chargeable facility (£1 up to 4hrs, 4hrs+ £12).

The graveled areas outside Steam will remain available for vaccination centre patients with blue badges and mobility issues

Over 40,000 patients vaccinated at Steam

Park Lane Practice are proud to announce working as part of Brunel Health Group and its 4 PCNS alongside Wyvern Health Partnership PCN we have now vaccinated over 40,000 patients at the Steam Museum in Swindon.

We would like to also take this opportunity to thank Swindon Borough council for all of their support and providing the venue for this very important vaccination centre.

Face Coverings

It is now a requirement in England to wear face coverings on public transport and in shops.

The government guidance on exemptions suggests there is no requirement for evidence of exemption and therefore the practice will not be providing our patients with an exception letter.

It is therefore sufficient for an individual to self-declare they are exempt from wearing a face covering.
